Happy new YEAH! or Frohes Neues JA! This is my m Happy new YEAH! or Frohes Neues JA! This is my mantra for the year - reflecting to which things I want to say YES! So this is how my YEAH/JA was incorporated yesterday in a very special zen cake. I was so lucky to start into this new year with creative metime and a gorgeous workshop by @kathrin_burmeister und @yvonnepranschke_fleer . Four hours of flow, trusting the process, not knowing what will come. I really like this process as a metaphor how this fresh new year is still ahead of us not knowing what will be in this box of chocolates this year, staying open, curious, positive, mindful and enjoying that not everything can or must be controlled, that letting go and grow has a wonderful energy and surprising yourself is just magical. I loved to play with the amazing collage papers and the idea of a half transparent spiral with #divi came by itself and wanted be part of this special object. Like wandering through all the facets of a year, but held together with a growing net of beauty and magic, leaving space to breathe, to give insights, to grow in a direction of a spiral - meaning events, feelings, triggers are often repeating itself, but you grow and evolve phase by phase. And my 11 year old son was also attending the great workshop - he created the magical spiral by playing with all the papers, adding a little window with his word of the year! I love it. I am very happy that this 3rd INTERNATIONAL ZENTANGLE RETREAT will take place again at the wonderful, charming and unique Krusenhof (Northern Germany, about 1h from Hanover, Germany). Here are some first details: DATE: 09.-11. October 2026, starting Friday 2:30 p.m., ending Sunday 2:30 p.m. COSTS: 650€ including two nights, delicious vegetarian meals, materials and lots of surprises. There will be a 100€ registration fee to save your spot, which will not be refundable in case you have to cancel. LOCATION: We will be staying in a beautiful, charming, and characterful manor house - the Krusenhof. It doesn't feel like a hotel, but rather like a cozy home that we have all to ourselves, it is really a magical place. WHAT IS SO SPECIAL ABOUT IT? Bathing in an ocean of options… …swimming like a Bathing in an ocean of options… …swimming like a fish or a mermaid 😉 in scale tangles (Schuppenmustern). That´s what we did last night! I love the idea, that scales are an important element of the outer layer with a protective function and also enabling hold, strength and flexibility at the same time. So we started by looking at scales in nature, but also at amazing scale patterns on fabric. And then it was like time stopped and we were completely immersed in so many possibilities of grid structures, scale fragments and playfulness - asking yourself what you need in this special moment! Enjoying the endless creative space or the calm of a meditative mono tangle, bathing in color or the beauty of black and white… It was a wonderful evening taking over @henrikebratzczt weekly #tangletreff. Celebrating summer solstice I was part of Ina´s p Celebrating summer solstice I was part of Ina´s premiere called ‘Lange Nacht der Muster’ where the idea was to stroll around and get insights into three wonderful studios, sharing thoughts, stories, inspiration, some secrets 😉 and connection during this magical night. Thank you Ina @easytangle_ina_czt for hosting this wonderful evening and your session about the importance of day and night, light and darkness, and the magical space in the intersection. Thank you Gildo @gildosobrinoczt for letting us visit your studio in Spain, we could feel the light summer breeze and I would love to join the morning dip in the ocean one day! I loved your thoughts about how we evolve with the help of tangles that reflect our internal, emotional and mental changes during our zentangle journey. I was honored to show my studio - although I was not at home, but on a little Island called Langeoog that night. It made me be aware that besides my desk, my studio is everywhere, all places around me are full of inspiration, spark, ideas that start as little seeds…and also, my head is a wonderful studio, the place where everything can grow, from chaos to beauty, from mindfulness, minimalism to richness… My session was about the power of slowness. Slowness and all the chances that grow from being slow and maybe also bored. This is an important part of creativity, mindfulness and also health, when we are slow, we can listen to our needs, thoughts and own wisdom. So the little snail wanted to come with these known letters ASAP - but we wanted to find new meanings for this abbreviation - as slow as possible, as soft as possible, as sexy as possible 😂 …instead of as soon as possible. And the wonderful tangle #paradox couldn’t accompany this mental impulse better. Eine Woche, in der alles Platz hat: Zentanglefreude, berührende Projekte, Verbundenheit, Weite, Meer, Genuss…an einem Ort zum Anker werfen, die Zeit langsamer laufen lassen und auf allen Ebenen Fülle tanken.   So eine Woche soll es wieder geben - das Meer ruft schon - und zwar vom 13.-19.06.2026 auf Langeoog. Lust auf einen Tag Abtauchen und Eintauchen? Hie Lust auf einen Tag Abtauchen und Eintauchen? Hier kommt dein Boardingpass für eine Reise auf die Zentangle Insel - ein innerer Ort, der jederzeit da ist, an den man mit wenig Gepäck reisen kann und an dem man verweilen kann und schauen kann, was es gerade für einem braucht - Ruhe, Achtsamkeit, Fülle, einen freien Kopf, Kreativität, Inspiration, Verbundenheit, Mensch-Sein, mentale Häppchen, Minimalismus oder Verspieltheit...dein innerer Ort zum Auftanken und Sein! In den letzten Jahren habe ich schon viele Basiskurse mit Zentangle gestaltet - und ja, es gibt eine Essenz, was Zentangle ausmacht - die darf aber auch immer wieder frische Nuancen bekommen, neue Blickwinkel und sich überraschend zeigen. Daher sind Basiskurse bei mir jedes Mal anders und oft auch mehr als Basics. Ich finde ja, Zentangle bedeutet, alles ist möglich, ein Strich nach dem anderen - daher gibt es für mich in dieser Essenz auch keinen Unterschied, ob man Anfänger ist oder schon Vielreisender - es geht um den Anfängergeist, die Offenheit, das Staunen, das sich Einlassen und das Erkennen, was Zentangle einem alles schenken kann. Ich musste im Mai einen Basiskurs wegen eines Unfalls absagen - und so sind unverhofft nun zwei neue Termine entstanden, für die es jeweils noch ein paar Plätze gibt. Adding some magic to your routines… …and trying o Adding some magic to your routines… …and trying out something new, or something you thought you would not like…and surprising yourself! This has a special power and energy! We started a wonderful experiment today - adding a cutter to the Zentangle tool box. Enjoying the phases of drawing - shading - and then opening up spaces, little by little, where light can break through, where there is room to breath, room for lightness and new perspectives. The cutter is not a tool for further optimization of your tiles (or yourself) - removing unloved parts - in contrast, it is a magical tool to add love, spark and wow!
